Bruce Tuckman's infamous model has a naming issue: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing.
The name suggests that the outcome is performance, but the outcome can just as easily be disfunction and toxicity.
The role of facilitation, leadership and high-quality decision making in this context is to shorten the process and tend towards higher-quality, intentional outcomes. Otherwise known as performance.
