Information should have the same safeguards as finance.

Businesses are expected to have strong governance around their finances and financial control. Why should it be any different for information?

Directors, and journalists; companies and media outlets, should all have a legal duty to the right-use of the information they put out. The ICO should be just as concerned with the information being distributed as content as it is with the information being held.

There should be consequences for the reckless use of information.
