Time to action the low-hanging fruit from the list is essential in processing the wider programme of tasks. If you're jumping straight into another meeting (or more) the pressure of those tasks builds and will quickly become overwhelming. This doesn't even account for the task & context switching involved. TL;DR - if you're not leaving enough space between meetings, you're doing it wrong.
